This week the NSW Government announced that NSW motorists that spend an average of $25 or more per week on road tolls over a 12 month period will be eligible for free registration. This will save most eligible motorists $358 per year (for those with medium sized cars) and will save some motorists up to $715 per year (for those with large cars).
The scheme will come into operation on 1 July 2018 but will be back dated to the 1st July 2017 – so any spending on tolls after then will qualify.
The scheme will only apply to private vehicles weighing less than 2975kg including cars, utes, four-wheel-drives and motorcycles. Trucks will be excluded from the scheme.
No further details are available yet, but when they become available we will let MoneyBrilliant users who may be eligible know exactly what they need to do to get their free registration. Its all part of the MoneyBrilliant service.
