How do I create category rules for similar transactions?

When you recategorise your transactions you can create category rules to apply to similar existing transactions and future transactions – saving you time.

Similar transactions are transactions that have the same transaction description (after we remove dates, account and reference numbers, and other irrelevant information)

You can create category rules for similar transactions when you recategorise your transactions in desktop. To create a category rule for similar transactions, tick the Apply to existing and future transactions checkbox at the bottom left of the Categories screen.
